The Treasurer has released a Tax Discussion Paper.

The Paper identifies issues in the current tax system and consider options in relation to individuals, business generally, tax on savings, small business, the not-for-profit sector, GST and State Taxes, indirect taxes and tax administration.

Submissions and suggestions on the discussion paper can be made until 1 June 2015.

The Government’s tax options Green Paper will be released in the second half of 2015. The Government will seek further feedback on those options before putting forward policy proposals for consideration in 2016.
