The Standing Committee of Attorneys General (SCAG) Communique from its meeting on 6 and 7 August 2009 discusses, amongst other things, progress on personal property securities reform.

The Commonwealth introduced the PPS Bill into Parliament on 24 June 2009. Debate on the PPS Bill is expected to take place in the Spring sitting. COAG has decided that the new scheme will commence in 2011.

UPDATE: The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee will present its report on the Bill on 17 August .
