The Autonomous Sanctions Amendment (Ukraine) Regulation 2014 amends the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011 to implement new financial and travel sanctions against “A person or entity that the Minister (for Foreign Affairs) is satisfied is responsible for, or complicit in, the threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
Autonomous Sanctions (Designated Persons and Entities and Declared Persons – Ukraine) List 2014 lists persons and entities designated by the Minister for the purpose of paragraph 6(1)(a) of the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011 and persons declared by the Minister for the purpose of paragraph 6(1)(b) of the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011 on the basis that he or she is mentioned in Item 9 of the table in regulation 6; that is, “a person or entity that the Minister is satisfied is responsible for, or complicit in, the threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
It is an offence to contravene a sanction.
