Cyber Security Threat Report

The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) has published its first unclassified Cyber Security Threat Report.

As well as describing the current Australian threat environment and recent reported incidents and alerts, it provides a useful description of different types of tools which are threats to both government and private business security:

  • cyber intrusion
  • Spear phishing
  • Remote Access Tools
  • Watering-hole techniques
  • Malware
  • Ransomware
  • Distributed Denial of Service.

The report describes risk-mitigation strategies which every business should consider.
