Compliance with the General Insurance Code of Practice

The General Insurance Code Governance Committee has published its report on compliance with the General Insurance Code of Practice for the 2022–23 reporting year.

The Committee has identified the following top 5 Code breaches:

  • We will tell you about the progress of your claim at least every 20 business days
  • We will keep you informed about the progress of your complaint at least every 10 business days
  • We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and other requirements when we use your personal information
  • Once we have all the relevant info, we will make a decision and tell you within 10 business days
  • When we receive your complaint, we will acknowledge that we have received it.
