AML Bill Tranche 2 update

The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Amendment Bill 2024 has been passed by the House of Representatives and introduced into the Senate. Background.

The Bill has been referred to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee which is due to report by 13 November 2024.

If the Bill is not passed in the sittings of 18-28 November 2024 it will be deferred to 2025. The Bill will lapse if it is not passed before the election due by May 2025.
